Our campaign was never just about winning a seat on the bench. It was about something far greater: the belief thatour courts must remain independent, that the rule of law must be protected, and that every person who stands before a judge deserves fairness, dignity, and justice untouched by politics or outside pressure.
Those values do not belong to any one candidate. They belong to all of us.
I am humbled by the trust so many of you placed in me, in one-on-one conversations at the grocery store, at community events, at churches across Nashville on Sunday, and at the polls. The volunteers who gave their time and the donors who invested in this vision did so because they understand what is at stake for our courts and our democracy. I am deeply grateful.
I congratulate my friend, Dawn Deaner and wish her every success. An independent, principled judiciary is bigger than any one of us, and I trust that Nashville will continue to be well served.
I will remain on the bench through the end of my term, working on a successful transition with Dawn and her team, and intend to honor every remaining day of that service, upholding the law with the same commitment that has always guided me.
With gratitude and deep respect for this community,
Jim Todd
